“Gli alberi di Stavropol”, ecco il nuovo album dei SINTESI DEL VIAGGIO DI ES.
Ormai consolidati eredi della storica band dei SITHONIA !!
Un elegante, poetico crocevia tra progressive rock dalle derive italiane anni 70, tinte prog-folk e attitudini cantautorali.
Quasi un concept album e come nell’esordio (“Il sole alle spalle” 2017) non poteva mancare una splendida suite, stavolta i 14 minuti di “Il Viaggio di Es”
A proposito dei Sithonia il sound viene contraddistinto dal fulcro tematico-compositivo di Valerio Roda (basso), dalla voce caratteristica di Marco Giovannini (entrambi membri storici della band bolognese) e dal notevole apporto chitarristico di Sauro Musi (suonò nell’album “Hotel Brun”). Completano il sestetto Eleonora Montenegro (flauto), Maurizio Pezzoli (tastiere) e Nicola Alberghini (batteria).
Da menzionare anche la presenza del violino di Barbara Rubin nell’estatico brano strumentale “Adria” e dell’organetto diatonico di Maria Grazia Ponziani nel secondo strumentale “Grazie per gli anni e per i giorni”.
Stavropol, una città russa nel Caucaso del nord, ai piedi del monte Elbrus. Una città verde con molti alberi, una città con molto vento. Di notte il vento muove gli alberi e gli alberi sussurrano fra di loro, parlano, commentano le cose del mondo e il fantastico ed il reale si fondono. Li sento dalla mia stanza sulla Moskovskaja, e percepisco le loro voci scorerre verso la Dobroljubova ma ancora non capisco. Cosa stanno preparando?
In questo album, il viaggio di Es parte da un locale fumoso, dove si dissolvono i ricordi e continua a S. Pietroburgo, a Mosca, per arrivare a Stavropol.
Passato e presente si affrontano, dolori e gioie si confrontano in un continuo alternarsi. In mezzo i nostri desideri e le nostre aspirazioni.

Almost a concept album and as in the debut (“Il sole alle spalle” 2017) a splendid suite could not be missing, this time the 14 minutes of “Il Viaggio di Es”
About Sithonia, the sound is distinguished by the thematic-compositional fulcrum of Valerio Roda (bass), by the characteristic voice of Marco Giovannini (both historical members of the band from Bologna) and by the notable guitar contribution of Sauro Musi (he played in the album “Hotel Brun “). Eleonora Montenegro (flute), Maurizio Pezzoli (keyboards) and Nicola Alberghini (drums) complete the sextet. Also worth mentioning is the presence of Barbara Rubin’s violin in the ecstatic instrumental piece “Adria” and the diatonic accordion of Maria Grazia Ponziani in the second instrumental “Grazie per gli anni e per i giorni”.
Stavropol, a Russian city in the North Caucasus at the foot of Mount Elbrus. A green city with many trees, a city with a lot of wind. At night the wind moves the trees and the trees whisper to each other, talk, comment on the things of the world and the fantastic and the real merge. I hear them from my room on Moskovskaya, and I hear their voices flowing towards Dobroljubova but I still don’t understand. What are they preparing?
In this album, Es’s journey starts from a smoky place, where memories dissolve and continues to St. Petersburg, Moscow, to arrive in Stavropol. Past and present confront each other, pains and joys confront each other in a continuous alternation. In between our desires and our aspirations.
