SINTESI DEL VIAGGIO DI ES “Il Sole alle Spalle”
Tre membri dello storico gruppo prog SITHONIA danno vita ai SINTESI DEL VIAGGIO DI ES.
Valerio Roda (basso), Marco Giovannini (voce), Sauro Musi (chitarra) riprendono il filo progressivo della band bolognese che è stata fra i protagonisti della rinascita del rock progressivo italiano dagli anni 80.
“Il Sole alle Spalle” eredita dunque le tipiche carattestiche che furono di dischi che hanno lasciato il segno come “Spettacolo annullato”, “Hotel Brun” e “La Soluzione semplice”: interpretazione e melodia tipicamente italiana, brani-canzoni sempre accattivanti di media lunghezza, con l’imprescindibile suite di oltre 15 minuti, la conclusiva title track, che sa dipanarsi in immagini e momenti diversi, dai tratti più sinfonici e rockeggianti al respiro più delicato di chitarre acustiche, piano e flauto.
Proprio il flauto traverso di Eleonora Montenegro diviene elemento distintivo nel caratterizzare i tratti di maggiore leggerezza e dolcezza, sino a disgressioni dai rimandi celtici (non manca il tin whistle per l’occasione).
Completano la band Nicola Alberghini alla batteria e Maurizio Pezzoli alle tastiere, con i tipici rimandi di Hammond, Moog e mellotron ad alimentare atmosfere di matrice seventies.

Three members of the historic italian prog-band SITHONIA form the new project SINTESI DEL VIAGGIO DI ES.
Valerio Roda (bass), Marco Giovannini (vocals), Sauro Musi (guitar) resume the progressive thread of the band from Bologna that has been an important protagonist of the rebirth of Italian progressive rock from the 80s.
“Il Sole alle Spalle” inherits the typical characteristics of records that have left their mark as “Spettacolo annullato”, “Hotel Brun” and “La Soluzione semplice”: typically Italian interpretation and melody, always appealing songs length, with the indispensable 15-minutes suite, the conclusive title track, which knows how to unfold in different images and moments, from the most symphonic and rocking to the most delicate breath of acoustic guitars, piano and flute.
Just the flute of Eleonora Montenegro becomes a distinctive element for the traits of greater lightness and sweetness, until folkish Celtic digressions (there is also a tin whistle for the occasion).
