I Rostro Del Sol sono una nuova band messicana dedita a un progressive-jazz-rock strumentale con svariate contaminazioni, dal blues alla psichedelia, rigorosamente in territori anni 60 e 70.
ll gruppo aveva già proposto il singolo “Cynical Mind” nel 2020. L’esordio omonimo tradisce tutte le derivazioni con ritmo e vitalità, dando nuova enfasi a una stagione che tra Canterbury, progressive, assoli hendrixiani, blues in stile Cream, ha dato vita a uno dei capitoli principali della storia del rock
Con un tipica cover da band prog e una line-up a quattro formata da Mitch Balaant (chitarra), Demian Burgos (batteria), Israel Mejía (basso) e Baruch Hernandez (tastiere) a cui si aggiunge come ospite Dan Samhain (sax), il quartetto esordisce con cinque brani mediamente lunghi (tra i sei e gli otto minuti), mostrando una grande padronanza tecnica e capacità di improvvisazione. In questo spicca “Tales… I-III” grande suite prog con lunghi assoli di chitarra tra il blues e l’hard rock che poi si disperdono in atmosfere psichedeliche dei primi Pink Floyd. 

Suoni space-rock introducono “Effect Of Creation” per poi esplodere in vortici sonori tra Soft Machine, Deep Purple e Jimi Hendrix. L’unico brano breve (“Solar Flare”) è quello più legato al jazz-rock, mentre la tecnica strumentale prevale nel blues di “Backyard’s Blues” e nel brano decisamente vintage ma estremamente complesso “Bop C Sketches”. ROSTRO DEL SOL è un collage musicale di Blues, Jazz, Funk, Progressive e Psych rock delle epoche d’oro degli anni ’60 e ’70, che offre momenti inaspettati, sviluppati attraverso diverse sonorità e intensità man mano che la musica va avanti, ogni canzone ha lo scopo di raccontare una storia a sè, basta ascoltare e liberare la tua immaginazione per trovare l’essenza interiore.

Rostro Del Sol are a new Mexican band dedicated to an instrumental progressive-jazz-rock with various contaminations, from blues to psychedelia, rigorously in the territories of the 60s and 70s;the group had already proposed the single “Cynical Mind” in 2020. 
The homonymous debut shows all the derivations with rhythm and vitality, giving new emphasis to a season that between Canterbury, progressive, Hendrixian solos, Cream-style blues, gave birth to one of the main chapters in rock history. 
With a typical prog band cover and a four-piece line-up formed by Mitch Balaant (guitar), Demian Burgos (drums), Israel Mejía (bass) and Baruch Hernandez (keyboards) with the addition of guest Dan Samhain (sax) , the quartet debuts with five medium-long pieces (between six and eight minutes), showing great technical mastery and improvisation skills. 
In this, “Tales… I-III” stands out, a large prog suite with long guitar solos between blues and hard rock which then disperse in the psychedelic atmospheres of early Pink Floyd. Space-rock sounds introduce “Effect Of Creation” and then explode in sound vortexes between Soft Machine, Deep Purple and Jimi Hendrix. The only short piece (“Solar Flare”) is the one most linked to jazz-rock, while the instrumental technique prevails in the blues of “Backyard’s Blues” and in the decidedly vintage but extremely complex piece “Bop C Sketches”. ROSTRO DEL SOL is a musical collage of Blues, Jazz, Funk, Progressive and Psych rock from the golden eras of the 60’s and 70’s, which offers unexpected moments, developed trough diverse sonorities & intensities as the music goes on, each song is intended to tell a history on it’s own, just listen and set your imagination free to find the essence inside.
