Il ritorno di una band talentuosa, fra i primi protagonisti in casa Lizard e della rinascita progressiva negli anni 90
Con lo stesso quintetto del primo album del 1996 “In un altro quando” (impresa affatto agevole) i piemontesi IMAGIN’ARIA giungono al loro quinto album, a tredici anni dal loro ultimo lavoro in studio “Progetto T.I.’A.”.
“Exeligere” sembra mantenere intatto il sound che ha caratterizzato sin dagli inizi la band piemontese, la spiccata, dinamica musicalità appoggiata alle trame chitarristiche di Gian Luca Milan e Ivan Peasso, la duttile sezione ritmica di Andrea Peasso (basso) e Fabio Biffignandi (batteria), l’espressiva vocalità di Daniele Perico, supportata negli arrangiamenti anche da tastiere e fiati (emblematica l’ottima “La scelta migliore”). Ma soprattutto risalta la personalità e l’originalità compositiva a sorreggere testi mai banali, la modernità di un progressive rock che era avanti negli anni 90 e ancor oggi non perde in passo, frutto di una diversa maturità e di una rigenerata freschezza.

With the same quintet from the first album of 1996 “In un’altro altro” the band IMAGIN’ARIA reach their fifth album, thirteen years after their last studio work “Progetto T.I.’A.”.
“Exeligere” seems to keep intact the sound that has characterized the Piedmontese band since its beginnings, the strong, dynamic musicality supported by the guitar plots of Gian Luca Milan and Ivan Peasso, the ductile rhythm section of Andrea Peasso (bass) and Fabio Biffignandi (drums) ), the expressive vocality of Daniele Perico, supported in the arrangements also by keyboards and wind instruments (the excellent “La scelta migliore” is emblematic). But above all the personality and originality of the composition stand out to support texts that are never banal, the modernity of a progressive rock that was ahead in the 90s and even today does not lose pace, the result of a different maturity and a regenerated freshness.
