“ODESSA, formazione hard e prog tra le più talentuose del panorama italiano, il loro viaggio inizia nel 1998 e hanno alle spalle un’intensa attività concertistica nazionale e internazionale, specialmente in Messico e Francia, nonchè una collaborazione con Ian Paice dei Deep Purple”(Rock Nation)

L’idea di rifare “Stazione Getsemani”, il nostro fortunato disco d’esordio del 1999, con l’attuale formazione è stato fortemente voluta e finanziata da Marina Montobbio, a cui vanno i miei personali ringraziamenti. Gli Odessa allora erano una band neonata, formata poco prima di andare in studio su proposta di Loris Furlan. L’idea è quella di fornire una testimonianza discografica del sound successivo della band, caratterizzato dell’ingresso di Marco e Giulio e da anni di rodaggio e affinamento in club e festival. 

E’ stato un grande piacere rimettere mano alle composizioni che avevo realizzato oltre 25 anni fa, tentare di trasferire nella loro esecuzione tutta l’energia con cui sono stati pensati, unita alla maturità musicale che i membri di questa band hanno raggiunto nel tempo. Per farlo, oltre all’insostituibile Loris Furlan, ho voluto avvalermi di Giorgio Brugnone per il mix finale, la postproduzione e la masterizzazione, esattamente come avvenne venticinque anni fa. 

Anche la copertina, in coerenza con l’intento di rivisitazione e prosieguo che caratterizza e motiva l’opera, affida a una stupenda tela di Silvano Braido il suo aspetto, che tratta lo stesso tema, la Crocifissione, da un altro punto di vista e in un momento appena successivo alla stessa.Lorenzo Giovagnoli

Ho voluto realizzare questa idea con tutta la mia passione perchè credo che l’opera prima di Odessa, già un capolavoro e ormai esaurito, meritasse di ritornare con una nuova veste di suoni.
E perchè volevo dare il mio contributo alla Bellezza, unica cosa immortale, la sola che potrà salvarci anche attraverso l’orrore dei nostri giorni (rappresentato dal quadro in copertina – Indifferenza per la crocifissione)
Per questo ringrazio tutte le persone che hanno raccolto la sfida con entusiasmo, anche confrontandosi col proprio lavoro di 25 anni prima.

Ci sono intuizioni e momenti che possono tracciare un percorso. Ad esempio una mela settantiana, la copertina rossa di un LP con una scritta dorata, un Jesus Christ Superstar bolognese, uno studio di registrazione in una mansarda in terra veneta per disporre una produzione artistica di un album fra i più significativi del progressive rock italiano degli anni 90.

“Stazione Getsemani” è stato fin dall’inizio un luogo immaginario d’incontro, un crocevia creativo per un progetto che si andava a definire.

“A Getsemani…ti rivedrò”, cita il testo. Un arrivederci non programmato, eppure 25 anni dopo siamo qui a rinnovare quelle splendide canzoni, con la band attuale, con nuova energia, nuovo entusiasmo, la stessa appassionata coerenza artistica.Buon anniversario, Odessa !!!

The idea of ​​remaking “Stazione Getsemani”, our successful debut album from 1999, with the current lineup was strongly desired and financed by Marina Montobbio, to whom I extend my personal thanks. Odessa were then a newborn band, formed shortly before going into the studio on the suggestion of Loris Furlan. 
The idea is to provide a record of the band’s subsequent sound, characterized by the entry of Marco and Giulio and by years of testing and refining in clubs and festivals.It was a great pleasure to rework the compositions I had created over 25 years ago, to try to transfer into their performance all the energy with which they were conceived, combined with the musical maturity that the members of this band have achieved over time. 
To do this, in addition to the irreplaceable Loris Furlan, I wanted to avail myself of Giorgio Brugnonefor the final mix, post-production and mastering, exactly as happened twenty-five years ago. Even the cover, in keeping with the intent of revisiting and continuing that characterizes and motivates the work, entrusts its appearance to a wonderful canvas by Silvano Braido, which deals with the same theme, the Crucifixion, from another point of view and at a time just after it. Lorenzo Giovagnoli
I wanted to realize this idea with all my passion because I believe that the first work of Odessa, already a masterpiece and now sold out, deserved to return with a new guise of sounds. And because I wanted to give my contribution to Beauty, the only immortal thing, the only thing that can save us even through the horror of our days (represented by the painting on the cover – Indifference to the crucifixion) For this I thank all the people who have taken up the challenge with enthusiasm, even comparing themselves with their work from 25 years earlier. Marina Montobbio
There are intuitions and moments that can trace a path. 
For example, a seventies apple, the red cover of an LP with a golden writing, a Jesus Christ Superstar from Bologna, a recording studio in an attic in the Veneto region to arrange an artistic production of one of the most significant albums of Italian progressive rock of the 90s. “Stazione Getsemani” has been an imaginary meeting place from the beginning, a creative crossroads for a project that was taking shape. “A Getsemani…ti rivedrò”, the lyrics quote. An unplanned goodbye, and yet 25 years later we are here to renew those splendid songs, with the current band, with new energy, new enthusiasm, the same passionate artistic coherence. Happy anniversary, Odessa!!!
