ROZ VITALIS (San Pietroburgo – Russia) esiste dal 2001 come progetto di studio principalmente tastieristico, ideato dal tastierista compositore Ivan Rozmainski, evolutosi negli anni in un ampio collettivo strumentale di propensione progressive rock.
Lo stile di “Quia Nesciunt Quid Faciunt” – come qualsiasi altro materiale dei ROZ VITALIS – può essere descritto come il “ramo inclassificabile del Prog Rock”. Tuttavia, tag come “Melodic Avant Rock”, “Canterbury Gothic Prog” o “Between Sympho Prog and Avant Prog” sono forse in parte rilevanti. 
La musica dei ROZ VITALIS parla dell’Ineffabile e dell’Insondabile. In particolare, si tratta dell’aspirazione umana per La Luce Inavvicinabile.

Cinque anni e mezzo dopo “The Hidden Man of the Heart” – dopo molti concerti, album di concerti autoprodotti e singoli – la band è pronta a presentare il nuovo album in studio pubblicato da Lizard Records! Si intitola “Quia Nesciunt Quid Faciunt” (“non sanno quello che fanno” tradotto dal latino), è composto da 10 brani e dura 54 minuti.Il titolo dell’album è stato ispirato dai tragici eventi degli ultimi anni legati alle operazioni militari e alla violazione dei diritti umani in alcune regioni del mondo. Il concetto dell’album è adeguatamente trasmesso dal titolo, sebbene quasi tutte le composizioni siano state composte alla fine degli anni 2010. La maggior parte dei brani sono stati sviluppati durante i concerti della band nel 2018-2021, ma ulteriori registrazioni, mixaggi e mastering sono continuati fino al 2023. Forse il messaggio dell’album è catturato – nel migliore dei modi – nel brano intitolato “The Man Whose Wings Were Cut Off”. , una versione leggermente più breve pubblicata come singolo nel 2020 e mai eseguita dal vivo. “Quia Nesciunt Quid Faciunt” si differenzia da tutti gli altri album in studio per le parti di batteria molto tecniche. Questo è il merito del batterista Evgeny Trefilov. È stato anche autore di due brevi brani suonati al pianoforte sintetico – “Fountain” e “Nocturne” – e tecnico del suono responsabile del mixaggio e del mastering. Sfortunatamente, lasciò il gruppo poco prima del completamento dell’album. Quindi questa uscita è sia il primo che l’ultimo album in studio dei ROZ VITALIS con la partecipazione di Evgeny Trefilov. Allo stesso tempo, le linee melodiche essenziali sono fornite – come in precedenza – principalmente da tastiere, chitarre, flauto e tromba.

ROZ VITALIS (Saint Petersburg, Russia) exists since 2001 as a studio keyboard-dominated project by composer and keyboardist Ivan Rozmainsky, evolved over the years into a large instrumental progressive rock collective.The style of “Quia Nesciunt Quid Faciunt” – like any other ROZ VITALIS stuff – can be described as the “Unclassifiable Branch of Prog Rock”. However, such tags as “Melodic Avant Rock”, “Canterbury Gothic Prog” or “Between Sympho Prog and Avant Prog”, are, perhaps, also partly relevant.Music of ROZ VITALIS is about The Ineffable and The Unfathomable. In particular, it is about human aspiration for The Unapproachable Light. 

Five and a half years later after “The Hidden Man of the Heart” – after many gigs, self-released concert albums and singles – the band is ready to present newest studio album released by Lizard Records! It is titled “Quia Nesciunt Quid Faciunt” (“they know not what they do” translated from Latin), consists of 10 tracks and lasts 54 minutes. The title of the album was induced by tragic events of the latest years concerned with military operations and violation of human rights in some regions of the world. The concept of the album is adequately conveyed by its title, although almost all the compositions were composed back in the late 2010s. Most of the tracks were developed at the band’s concerts in 2018-2021, but additional recording, mixing and mastering continued until 2023. Perhaps the album’s message is captured – in the best way – in track titled “The Man Whose Wings Were Cut Off”, a slightly shorter version released as a single in 2020 and never performed live. “Quia Nesciunt Quid Faciunt” differs from all other studio full-length albums by the very technical drum parts. This is the merit of drummer Evgeny Trefilov. He also acted as the author of two short works played on synthetic piano – “Fountain” and “Nocturne” – and as a sound engineer responsible for mixing and mastering. Unfortunately, he left the group shortly before the completion of the album. So this release is both the first and last full-length studio album of ROZ VITALIS with the participation of Evgeny Trefilov. At the same time, the essential melodic lines are provided – as previously – mainly by keyboards, guitars, flute and trumpet.
